Walker was found dead early on Monday morning, and Gaul, who played American football at Maryville College, was arrested the following night.

Earlier on Tuesday evening he professed his love for her on Twitter.

"To think that every memory we have, every happy special moment we shared, can't ever be relived. I love you Emma Jane Walker," he wrote.

"The amount of pain your family, me, the community are in because of this is insurmountable. Every time we held hands, kissed, hugged, to imagine that I'll never have that ever again hasn't quite yet hit me yet.

"I'll never forget those times we talked about our future and what kind of dog we'd get and how awesome our family would be. I'll never forget sitting on the couch, watching Dr. Pimple Popper and making popcorn and laughing and holding you," he continued.

As friends and family gathered for a memorial service on Tuesday, Gaul posted another message.

"I love you Emma, I can't be around any of that yet, it's too soon. I know you know I'm dying to be there but understand I can't. I love you," he wrote.

Gaul's social media profiles are filled with pictures of Walker.

Jenny Weldon, Walker's aunt told the Knoxville News Sentinel that she had "chosen to move on" but that Gaul "chose not to accept her wishes".

Chloe Kennedy, a spokeswoman for Maryville College, said on Wednesday that Gaul has been dismissed from the football team.

Michael Reynolds, principal at Central High School, where Walker was a student, released a statement calling her a "wonderful young lady".

"At this time, our hearts and thoughts and prayers are with the family as they go through this grieving process. We thank everyone in our community for their tremendous support," he said.

President-elect

Arguing with the in-laws is a time-honoured holiday tradition the world over - but with passions running high after Donald Trump's election, many Americans will be navigating a minefield as they celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Thankfully, the internet has stepped up with a host of tips for taking the peril out of the occasion - starting with a list of arguments to divert from an unwanted foray into politics.

Things that are OK to spar over, as listed by CNN, include: How to cook the turkey, roast, grill or deep-fry? And the stuffing, inside the bird or on the side? Cranberry sauce, canned or freshly made? What to do before you eat - crash out in front of the TV or build your appetite with a walk?

The President-elect

The Atlantic offers a similar list of - disputed - Thanksgiving-themed statements to be rolled out in an emergency: Pie is better than cake, pecan pie is better than pumpkin, apple pie is better than pecan, etc etc.

Etiquette expert Daniel Post Senning offered CNN the following advice on keeping things civil at Thanksgiving: stick to non-threatening topics - think weather, sport, kids - do your best to keep an open mind, and if things start to take a nasty turn, don't take the bait.

The subject at hand is no trivial matter: according to an online poll by ABC News and SSRS, 45 percent of Americans expect a side of politics with their turkey this year - and 38 percent are stressed by the prospect.

One woman from Arlington, Virginia, who asked not to be identified lest her in-laws see the article on Facebook, said her therapist had advised her to plan "exit ramps" if holiday conversations turn ugly.

"I brought my adult coloring books, Christmas cards to address and plenty of reading material," the woman told AFP.

"I may be spending a lot of time in my bedroom - with the door shut."

Israel’s government has accused arsonists of sparking half of a wave of wildfires that has paralysed parts of the country and forced 60,000 people to evacuate from their homes.

The flames began on Tuesday but have grown more powerful because of dry weather and strong winds and by Thursday fires were raging inside the port city of Haifa.

No one has been killed by the fires but several dozen people were taken to hospital and eight neighbourhoods were evacuated inside Haifa, a city of 270,000 people.

“We’re in a state of war,” a Haifa fire brigade spokesman said as flames threatened to consume several of the city’s tower blocks.

Gilad Erdan, the public security minister, said half of the roughly 200 fires has been “deliberately set”. Police said they were investigating several potential arson sites but that their main focus was on putting out the fires and carrying out evacuations.

Within the febrile context of the Middle East, the fires quickly became politicised.

The hashtag “Israel is burning” began to trend in several neighbouring Arab countries like Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.

Some Twitter users suggested the flames were divine retribution for a proposed Israeli law that would prevent mosques from making the call to prayer with loudspeakers.

Israeli commentators meanwhile referred to the flames as the “Fire Intifada”, suggesting that Palestinians or members of Israel’s Arab minority had started the flames as a way of attacking the Jewish state.

Naftali Bennett, a government minister and the leader of Right-wing political party, wrote on Twitter: “Only those to whom the land doesn't belong are able to burn it.”

Four people were arrested outside Jerusalem on suspicion of arson yesterday but were released while investigations continue, a police spokesman said.

We are very blessed to call this nation our home. And that is what America is: it is our home. It’s where we raise our families, care for our loved ones, look out for our neighbors, and live out our dreams.

It is my prayer, that on this Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country, strengthened by a shared purpose and very, very common resolve.

In declaring this national holiday, President Lincoln called upon Americans to speak with “one voice and one heart.” That’s just what we have to do.

We have just finished a long and bruising political campaign. Emotions are raw and tensions just don’t heal overnight. It doesn’t go quickly, unfortunately, but we have before us the chance now to make history together to bring real change to Washington, real safety to our cities, and real prosperity to our communities, including our inner cities. So important to me, and so important to our country. But to succeed, we must enlist the effort of our entire nation.

This historic political campaign is now over. Now begins a great national campaign to rebuild our country and to restore the full promise of America for all of our people.

I am asking you to join me in this effort. It is time to restore the bonds of trust between citizens. Because when America is unified, there is nothing beyond our reach, and I mean absolutely nothing.

Let us give thanks for all that we have, and let us boldly face the exciting new frontiers that lie ahead.

Thank you. God Bless You and God Bless America.

US President-elect Donald Trump acknowledged that a "long and bruising" presidential campaign had left emotions raw and tensions high on Wednesday but urged America to come together on its Thanksgiving holiday.

In a video address from his Florida golf resort, the 70-year-old tycoon said: "It is my prayer, that on this Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country, strengthened by a shared purpose and very, very common resolve."

Mr Trump will spend Thursday's holiday with part of his family in the Mar-a-Lago resort outside Palm Beach before returning to the job of picking nominees for the new US administration taking over on January 20.
Some of his earlier choices have fed existing concerns among minority groups and the Republican's liberal opponents he will lead a divisive government, concerned only with his white conservative base.

"We have just finished a long and bruising political campaign. Emotions are raw and tensions just don't heal overnight," Mr Trump admitted.

"It doesn't go quickly, unfortunately, but we have before us the chance now to make history together to bring real change to Washington, real safety to our cities, and real prosperity to our communities, including our inner cities."

On Wednesday, Mr Trump also announced that he selected Nikki Haley, a former critic, to serve as his ambassador to the United Nations.

The choice of Haley, the first non-white nominee to his cabinet, was seen as an effort by Mr Trump to deflect allegations of divisiveness and sexism that dogged his campaign.

Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed what they describe as a city that dates back more than 5,000 years, containing houses, tools, pottery and huge graves.

It lies by the River Nile, close to the Temple of Seti the First in Abydos.

Experts say the size of the 15 newly discovered graves indicates the high social standing of those buried.

It is believed the city was home to important officials and tomb builders and would have flourished during early-era ancient Egyptian times.

The discovery comes at a time when the country is trying re-energise its tourism industry, which has suffered amid militant violence since President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in 2011.

Archaeologists have made a range of finds in the newly-discovered city including buildings, shards of pottery and tools.

It is believed that this location was home to important officials and tomb builders who may have been engaged in the construction of royal graves in the nearby sacred city of Abydos - a place of many temples, and a capital in an early period of ancient Egyptian history.
The area is in the southern province of Sohag, in Upper Egypt, home also to the city of Luxor, one of the country's most popular tourist sites.

"About a mile behind where this material is said to be we have the necropolis with royal tombs going from before history to the period where we start getting royal names, we start getting identifiable kings," Prof Chris Eyre, an Egyptologist based at the University of Liverpool,

"So, this appears to be the town, the capital at the very beginning of Egyptian history."

The discovery was made by an archaeological mission that belongs to the country's Antiquities Ministry, and not a foreign group

A Kenyan couple have shocked their family and friends by committing suicide on the same day, leaving behind a suicide note.

Couple commit suicide after leaving suicide note
The residents of Githurai 44 area in Nairobi, Kenya, were surprised to find out that a woman identified as Esther Muthoni and her husband Simon Maina Kiarie, had committed suicide inside their house.

According to reports, the couple had written suicide notes, asking to be buried on the same day, before hanging themselves on Tuesday, November 22

Esther was said to have died first, before her husband followed several hours later. Simon had reportedly called his brother to inform him of his wife’s death just before his own body was found hanging beside hers.

The OCPD in charge of Kiambu police station, Duncan Ngutu, said:

“After calling his brother he committed suicide, by the time his brother arrived at the house, he found his body hanging next to that of the wife.”

Neighbours however doubt Esther could have killed herself, as they said the couple were always fighting and chances are Simon could have killed her first before hanging himself.

The Supreme Court has struck out stay of execution motions filed by Biyi Poroye and ordered the Appeal court to go ahead with ruling on the case between Eyitayo Jegede and Jimoh Ibrahim.

The Supreme Court said there was no way it could stop the second panel from ruling on the case between Jegede and Jimoh Ibrahim after the first panel stepped down.

Factional PDP candidate Eyitayo Jegede in supreme courtroom with Dr. Bode Olanipekun SAN and his father, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN

Supreme Court justice Walter Onnoghen told Poroye’s counsel Beluolisa Nwofor :

Tell us where in the constitution why we should punish those justices. You can’t box the lower court into a corner and be asking the Supreme Court for withdrawal of motions.”

Will angels come down to adjudicate your case after you blackmailed the first panel and also raised eyebrow against the second panel?” Justice Mohammed Ibrahim Tanko said.

Justice Onnoghen, the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, who presided over the proceedings dismissed Poroye’s motions and awarded a cost of N250,000 against him.

Recall that the Appeal Court had adjourned indefinitely its ruling on the case of Jegede’s appeal to reclaim the candidacy of the PDP in the upcoming Ondo election, but with this ruling, the Appeal Court can now continue with the ruling on the case between the two candidates of the PDP factions.

Men be careful while dealing with other men's wives you never know what you are getting into.

According to Tuko, the man came out to beg for forgiveness after sleeping with a Luo man’s wife in Kenya. He had to publicly do that because his manhood shifted to his kneels after he had sex with another man’s wife. Many believe the man put a curse on his wife after finding out she was cheating.

The Nigerian ladies who defeated Mali 6 – 0 in their opening group game at the ongoing 2016 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon faced a strong opposition in the Black Queens who entertained the crowd inside a nearly full stadium.

The game which had a scrappy start laws enlivened in the 10th minute an intelligent pass from Nigeria’s Wogu almost set up Oshoala, but the effort was too much for the Arsenal lady.

Nigeria opened the scoring in the 20th minute after a set-piece by Asisat Oshoala was turned-in by an opponent in an own-goal situation.

The Ghanaians leveled the scoring when Addo converted from the penalty spot  in the 42nd after she was fouled in Nigeria’s danger area.

Things then changed in the second half as the Black Queens settled and took control of proceedings in the midfield. The side’s goal scored Addo who was obviously the best player on the pitch continued to torment the Nigerian defence.

Also, lanky Dadson dazzled and was through on goal but Nigeria’s goalkeeper Alaba Jonathan was on hand to save the situation.

The Super Falcons had a couple of chance to win it at the dearth, but referee waved play-on in the last second when Oshoala was brough down in the area.

In ended: Nigeria 1 – 1 Ghana.

The Super Falcons must now win their final group game against Kenya on Saturday, November 26 in their bid to reach the semi-final.

Olusegun Obasanjo says it is tiring to hear the complaints of the Buhari administration when it was voted in to change the mistakes of the past

Obasanjo says the president also does not need the $30billion foreign loan to turn Nigeria’s economic fortunes around

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo says President Buhari should stop complaining and fix the mess
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for dwelling too much on the past and failing to turn around the fortunes of the country.

Premium Times reports that while delivering the keynote address at the First Akintola Williams Annual Lecture in Lagos on Wednesday, November 23, Obasanjo lashed at the Buhari administration for accusing all previous administrations of mis-governance.

He advised that since Buhari was elected to change the country, he should concentrate on clearing the mess he inherited.

“Now that we have had change because the actors and the situation needed to be changed, let us move forward to have progress through a comprehensive economic policy and programme that is intellectually, strategically and philosophically based,” Mr. Obasanjo said.

“It is easier to win an election than to right the wrongs of a badly fouled situation. When you are outside, what you see and know are nothing compared with the reality.

“And yet once you are on seat, you have to clear the mess and put the nation on the path of rectitude, development and progress leaving no group or section out of your plan, programme and policy and efforts. The longer it takes, the more intractable the problem may become.”

Obasanjo also wondered why President Buhari needed about $30billion loan to fix the economy.

“I am sure that such a comprehensive policy and programme (that will move Nigeria forward) will not support borrowing US$30 billion in less than three years. It will give us the short-, medium- and long-term picture.

“Adhocry is not the answer but cold, hard headed planning that evinces confidence and trust is the answer. Economy neither obeys orders nor does it work according to wishes. It must be worked upon with all factors considered and most stakeholders involved.

“The investors, domestic and foreign, are no fools and they know what is going on with the management of the economy including the foreign exchange and they are not amused. The Central Bank must be restored to its independence and integrity. We must be careful and watchful of the danger of shortermism.

“Short-term may be the enemy of medium- and long-term. We must also make allowance for the lessons that most of us in democratic dispensation have learned and which the present administration seems to be just learning.”

The former president used to be a staunch supporter of President Buhari but all that seems to have changed.

Obasanjo also did not forget to mention that the national assembly is a cesspool of corruption that stinks to the high heavens.

This is not the first time he has come after the federal lawmakers of the 8th assembly who also do not have any love lost for him.

A young lady has told a startling story about her father’s sexual involvement with her own sister in their home.

According to her, she had noticed her father’s closeness to her sister but didn’t know it has gone as far as sex. Read how she shared the story below:

”I have always sensed that my father was too close to my elder sister. The man was just too fond of her and obviously so. Over the years, I even grew jealous considering the attention he gave her to my own expense. Me and my sister are my parents only two children. I used to tell my mother about what I felt about my father but she always waved me off.

“It’s just in your imagination. Your father loves you all equally” she would say.

”Still I felt sidelined by my father and this caused some friction in the relationship between me and my sister though we still got along pretty well. Well, I got admission to study Accounting in Benue State Univerity last year but my sister is still seeking admission. So I came home last week on a short visit and that was when I made the most shocking discovery of my life.

”I walked into the house quietly to surprise my family since they didn’t I was coming and I saw my father on top of my sister having s*x with her on a couch. I screamed and ran outside. I sat down under a tree in front of our house badly shaken. I just picked my small bag and began to go back to school. I couldn’t handle it. Now, I don’t even know what to do; whether to tell my mother or just keep quiet about it.”

What will you advise her to do?
